Letha  is now in a nursing home in Farmington , IL (Farmington Country Manner) for rehabilitation.  She is doing much better but still a little disorientated because of the pain medication.  She is up and walking with the help of a walker and is expected to be there for one to two weeks.  I would like to thank everybody for the prayers and also for all the cards and emails she has received, it really helps to have all the support. Horeb Lodge will be hosting an open house on May 16, 2009 from 9:00AM-3:00PM. Our committee has some great ideas and we hope you will join us. The reason I am writing is we would like to find someone that resembles George Washington or Benjamin Franklin to give lodge tours and historical fact. The committee would provide the costume, but we need an actor! The committee members are Willie Howe, Alan Diefendorf, and Matthew Corbett. If you have any questions or suggestions that may help us, we welcome your input. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

A couple of us have started a new Masonic only web hosting / consulting site. We are offering unlimited storage and data transfer to lodges for $2 a month. Domain registration for $15/year or bring your existing domain to us. The website for Blank Lodge 1986.com is http://www.blanklodge1986.com. We will begin accepting paypal/credit cards this week. We also offer technology consulting for lodges and technological assistance to the Brethren. Normally I charge between $100-$150 an hour. Through this program, Lodges and Brothers can get assistance for $25/hour or can buy blocks of 10 hours for $200. Matthew Corbett is also assisting in this area.

Royal Arch Degree Work

There will be a practice of the 4^th and 5^th degrees next Wednesday April 1^st at 6PM to prepare for work to be done on Saturday April 4^th at Pekin Temple at 1PM. If the turn out is good we will be doing all 4 degrees.

Recognizing the thousands of Freemasons in every State in the Nation and honoring them for their many contributions to the Nation throughout its history.

Whereas Freemasons, whose long lineage extends back to before the Nation’s founding, have set an example of high moral standards and charity for all people;

Whereas the Founding Fathers of this great Nation and signers of the Constitution, most of whom were Freemasons, provided a well-rounded basis for developing themselves and others into valuable citizens of the United States;

Whereas members of the Masonic Fraternity, both individually and as an organization, continue to make invaluable charitable contributions of service to the United States;

Whereas the Masonic Fraternity continues to provide for the charitable relief and education of the citizens of the United States;

Whereas the Masonic Fraternity is deserving of formal recognition of their long history of care-giving for the citizenry and their example of high moral standards; and

Whereas Freemasons have always revered and celebrated St. John’s Day, June 24th, as dedicated to their patron saints: Now, therefore, be it

Resolved, That the House of Representatives recognizes the thousands of Freemasons in every State in the Nation and honors them for their many contributions to the Nation throughout its history.

We have a great program planned for this 60^th anniversary of the Midwest Conference. Also, there’s a busy and exciting Ladies’ Program. Facing our current economy I know times are difficult, but we’ve done everything we can to keep expenses down. That’s with one exception, a very special commemorative gift for the first 65 Masons who register.

 

With our 60^th and Abe Lincoln’s birth bicentennial, we are focusing on some fun activities. The new Lincoln Museum is a must visit. The museum has received outstanding accolades since its opening a few years ago.
